For nearly 100 years Westminster Presbyterian Church has been a beacon of faith, remaining loyal to its mission roots.

Westminster traces its origin to a Sunday School mission project started by Second Presbyterian Church of Lincoln in the late 1800's. The South Mission and Pleasant Hill Chapel combined to form Westminster on February 12, 1905.

With the vision and support of just 62 members and a minister, Westminster's first home was dedicated in November 1907 at 23rd and Garfield. After more than a decade of church growth in this location, property was purchased in the Sheridan district. The sanctuary at Sheridan Boulevard and South Street was dedicated on May 8, 1927.

The members of Westminster have carried the torch of faith --during times of war and peace, economic depression and prosperity, social unrest and change, celebrating births, baptisms, weddings, and lives of those of loved ones and friends departed.

Today, with God's rich blessings, the vision of a few has multiplied into a family of many.
