Growing in Mission

Westminster engages in outreach mission locally and globally. Westminster particularly seeks to participate in outreach mission activities that support its mission purpose: to be the church that is in ministry with families, especially children and youth.

Westminster is involved in local mission through the food pantry, St. Nick project, and in providing volunteers and/or financial support for Meals on Wheels, Lighthouse, the Gathering Place, Friendship Home, Tom Osborne Team Mates, and Samaritan Counseling Center. Donations to the summer Garden Fair, spring Hostamania, and fall Pumpkinfest support outreach mission. Westminster Preschool is an outreach educational ministry of the church. Westminster offers support groups such as Pathways for those who are grieving and individual support through Stephen Ministry. Westminster supports mission trips for both youth and adults.

Westminster supports four denominational special offerings: One Great Hour of Sharing, Pentecost offering, Peacemaking offering, and Christmas Joy offering. Westminster contributes to the Theological Education Fund. In addition, Westminster participates in Church World Service/CROP Walk and Bread for the World.

Westminster has a partnership relationship with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Lohmen, Germany, and with Hope Presbyterian Church, an African-American church in Chicago.
