We are the largest Presbyterian Church in Nebraska
-
We serve over 140 children and youth on our rolls, plus 120 preschool children and 60 scouts.
-
Our worship is creatively traditional. It means it's OK to laugh, applaud, wear casual clothes, do some playful things and still have a worship service that calls us to higher levels of thought and faith.
-
Westminster's Preschool is the only NAEYC Accredited Church Preschool in Lincoln.
-
Our ASCAP-award winning Music Director, Boyd Bacon, has published over 50 pieces of music and our organist, Dr. Masako Nakamura Bacon, is one of the few organists in Nebraska to have achieved the Diplomat status in the American Guild of Organists.
-
There are 40 different groups from both inside and outside the congregation that meet at Westminster in an average month.
-
Our pastor, Dr. Andrew McDonald, has graduate school degrees from Yale, McCormick and Vanderbilt, with special focus areas in ethics, revitalization and adult education.
-
Members are open to take annual mission trips to support areas hit by disasters or severe poverty. We are on our fifth trip to the Hurricane Katrina area of Louisiana.
-
Our Youth Groups take both fun trips and mission projects. Most recently Youth Group members went to Germany and Switzerland on a pilgrimage celebrating the 500th birthday of the founder of the Presbyterian Church.
-
We have a Green Team to help us to be ecologically good stewards of the earth and our church facilities.
