Weekday Preschool Newsletter April 2004

KIDS IN COLOR PHOTOGRAPHY: Jeanine Weiner will be at preschool to take individual pictures of each child and then a  group picture of the entire class. You are invited and welcome to bring in siblings of your preschool child to have their picture taken too. You will receive proofs to look at and may order pictures if you choose to do so. YOU ARE NOT OBLIGATED TO BUY ANY PICTURES!!  Jeanine will provide a free class photo to every child in the class, regardless of whether you order pictures or not. There will be a sample of the background posted in the classroom a few days before the picture day.
     Please bring your child dressed and ready for their picture. You do not need to remain that day as the teachers will  take the children individually to Jeanine to have their photo taken and then bring them back into the classroom to resume the activities there.

NATURE CENTER FIELD TRIP: Each class will be taking a field trip to the Pioneer Park Nature Center. We again ask for parents to sign up to help provide ransportation. Each child must bring a car seat to ride in that day. (The preschool will use some of our fundraising money to pay for this field trip, since there was an admission fee for the planetarium also.) We have had the Nature Center provide the nature hikes for our summer daycamp program and have been pleased with their tour guides. We anticipate that this will be a fun, educational event for the children. We hope you can join us!!

WESTMINSTER CHURCH EASTER EGG HUNT: On Saturday, April 3rd, Westminster Church has invited all the preschoolers and their families to join in the Easter Egg Hunt. You should have already received a postcard invitation with the details. It will begin at 10 am and is lots of fun. Susan Mayer (the Chapel Chat leader) will be leading the morning activities and she does a great job of creating a child-friendly event. Plan to come if you can!

PRESCHOOL CLOSED: There will be NO PRESCHOOL or ADVENTURE CAMP on Friday, April 9th (Good Friday). We will be completely closed that day. On Monday, April 12th (the day after Easter) we will offer Adventure Camp, but there  will be no regular preschool classes. Please sign up if you plan to have your child come on that Monday, April 12th so I know how many teachers need to come in to work that day. Thanks!

ENTRANCE TO PRESCHOOL: The church staff has asked me to remind you to use the east entrance that comes into the building next to the gym. Please do not come in the main church entrance and walk through the Fellowship Hall or the nursery area. There are meetings scheduled in these rooms and it is disruptive to have the door opened and/or people walking through.  Thank you for your cooperation.

SUMMER & FALL REGISTRATIONS: We have not received summer registration forms from several of you who I know are planning on having your child continue to attend during the summer months. We need to have these forms returned so we can plan our staffing and know how many other children who are not currently enrolled in our preschool to allow to attend.
     Your child will not be automatically enrolled - so PLEASE fill out a form and turn it in right away if you are planning on having them attend this summer.
     P.S. The same thing applies to next fall, NO CHILD IS AUTOMATICALLY ENROLLED, so you must fill out a registration form and turn it in. Both the T-TH and MWF morning classes are already full and some of the others only have a few openings left. Don’t wait and miss out!!
