Kids In Color Photography:
On April 5th , 6th, and 7th, all of the children in each of the classes will have their
pictures taken by Kids In Color Photography. Siblings are welcome to come
and be photographed as well. Each child will receive a FREE 5 x 7 class
picture, regardless of whether you order any photographs or not. You do
not need to feel obligated to order anything, but please be sure your
child attends that day so they will be in the class picture. (The day for
each class to be photographed is typed on their calendar.)
Early Childhood Celebration Event: On Saturday, April 8th from
10:00 am until 2:00 pm, we will have a booth at the Ag Hall at the State
Fairgrounds for this fun event. All the activities are FREE and
age-appropriate for preschoolers and early elementary-aged children. We
hope you can come out and visit our booth as well as the other fun
activities that will be provided. It is a great way to spend some time
with your child!!
Westminster Church Easter Party: Another fun event on that
same Saturday, April 8th, is an Easter Party being held at Westminster
Church. It begins at 10:30 am. A postcard with all the details will be
sent home with your child. The church is inviting all the preschool
families to come and join in the morning activities.
Preschool Easter Egg Hunt: We will have our own Easter
party on the Wednesday or Thursday before Easter. We will dye eggs and
make a basket to bring home our colored eggs and some plastic eggs that we
find during our egg hunt!!
NEEDED: If you can save and bring in
empty gallon milk jugs and 2-liter pop bottles (or the 16 oz. or 20 oz.
Size will work also - we need them by April 10th. If you have extra
plastic eggs (large size) that you don’t need, bring them in as well and
we won’t have to buy so many new ones!! We are striving to demonstrate to
the children how you can reuse and recycle items and make fun, new things
out of them. Thanks!!
Pizza Hut Certificates: At the end of both March and April your child will receive a
coupon good for one personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. This is because we
are participating in their "Book-It" promotion to encourage literacy and
pre-reading skills in preschoolers. Please continue to read to your child
and bring in the lists of books you read as we are posting them on our
walls in the classroom.
PRESCHOOL CLOSED: Both the preschool and extended care program will be closed
on Good Friday, April 14th. Please make other arrangements if you need
child care on that day. On Monday, April 17th, the preschool will be
closed, but we will be offering Adventure Camp. Be sure to sign up ahead
of that day if you plan to have your child come to Adventure Camp so we
know how many to plan for.
Birthdays:
If your child started preschool during the year and we
have not celebrated their birthday or special day (half-birthday) sometime
during this school year, please talk to one of their teachers so we can
get their day scheduled. We don’t want to miss anyone.
Rosters: Since there have been some changes in children in most of
the classes, I have copied the class roster on the back side of this
newsletter-- [Note from Webmaster: it
is NOT here on line. Sorry] I’m sure I
don’t have all the latest changes, but hopefully most of the information
is accurate!!
If there are
mistakes in this newsletter, I apologize. I’m typing this all with one
hand, as I did in fact, break my arm at our preschool roller skating
party. Thanks for all the concern and the notes I have received. It is my
first (and hopefully my last) broken bone ever!! WHAT AN EXPERIENCE! I’m
just glad it was me who got hurt and not one of the children or their
family members.
Just watch out for those roller skates though, THEY CAN BE DEADLY!! |
