| Rev. Ellen Davis
Joins Westminster Staff
Introducing the Reverend Ellen R. Davis -- the newes t member of
the Westminster Staff. Her position as part-time Parish Associate was approved
at the June Session Meeting and Ellen began her service in July.
Ellen comes
to Westminster from the Presbytery of the Twin Cities Area (PTCA) where she
served the North Presbyterian Church in St. Paul, MN for eleven years. Since her
retirement in the spring of this year, she enjoys emeritus status with that
congregation. Ellen is married to the Rev. Lynn Davis who is also a retired
Presbyterian minister.
Ellen is a graduate of Phillips Theological Seminary where she received her
Masters of Divinity with high honors. Throughout her career she has exhibited
exceptional skills in the areas of pastoral leadership, Christian education,
teaching and program redevelopment. Ellen has participated in the leadership of
the larger church as a member of the Leadership Development Work Group and the
Chair of the Vocations Commission in PTCA. She also served as President of the
North Area Ministerial Association in St. Paul.
Rev. Davis will work primarily with the "over 75" age group in our
congregation and will assist the pastors with pastoral calling and other duties
as needed. The Westminster Session and Personnel Committee are confident that
Rev. Davis’ ministry among us will enhance and further inspire our Christian
worship, service and fellowship.
The Personnel Committee asks that you join us in giving thanks to God for
Ellen’s faithfulness and many gifts of ministry, and ask God’s blessing on her
as she begins her ministry among us. |
