NEW NEIGHBORS!The Westminster
Neighborhood will have 11 new residents plus staff members at 1911 So.
20th Street in the house that is being remodeled by Cedars Youth
Services.
The middle and high school aged youths are the first to occupy the
Boys Group Home. These boys have been orphaned, neglected or abused and
now will live in a safe and stable home. They will move in just before
school starts about August 19th. Since they will arrive with very few
possessions, we would like to help out.
The Outreach Ministry, inspired by the neighborhood seminars
presented by the Adult Education Ministry, invites you to share in a
Housewarming Shower for the youth.
Please remember that these are male middle and high school students
who will be returning to the same school as each attended last year.
 School
supplies needed:
Backpacks, notebooks (college ruled) 2-3 per youuth, pack of
pens, pack of pencils, calculators, loose leaf paper, 3 ring
binders and folders. |

Our thanks to the WPC Men's Tuesday Fellowship group
for jump starting our shower with a $100 donation to purchase towel sets
for each boy. These are 3 piece sets: bath towel, hand towel and wash
cloth. We have a buyer and a source for purchasing suitable bedspreads
and/or bed in bag combos at a reasonable price. It would be great to
coordinate the colors/patterns per room. There will be 1 triple room, 2
double rooms and 4 single rooms.
NOW - Here is how the plan works! If you wish to join in our
housewarming shower:
1. Bring the school supply items to the Garden Room on August 12th or
August 19th.
2. Make a cash donation to the bedspread and towel fund so we can
purchase the bedding and a second set of towels for the residents.
3. Visit us in the Garden Room at our table on August 12th and 19th
so we can say
"Thanks for reaching out!"
