LIFETIME EVENTS FOR MAY
Prime Time goes to the
Country  -
May 4th

Attention all Prime Timers!! The May activity has been moved up 6 days to SUNDAY, MAY 4th for a trip to the country. Dust off the lawn chairs and get ready for a game of crochet, or horseshoes as Prime Time is going to the Hughes house just 1/2 mile from Branched Oak lake. Come on out about 3:30 p.m. to see Steve's assortment of antique cars, play some games, and if weather permits, the Hughes Party Barge will give rides on the lake. Chow down starts around 5:30. Please bring a lawn chair, and a salad or dessert to share. Atmosphere, meat and drinks will be provided. Donations will be taken to defray the cost of the meat. Come enjoy a late afternoon, early evening in the country!

To make a reservation and get a map, please contact Steve or Susie Hughes at skh@navix.net or call 783-2012 by Saturday May 3th .

The group is open to all Westminster members and friends. Those who need a ride from their home should call the church, 475-6702, or Jeanne Giles, 484-6651.

Prairie Readers
May 21st

Last Child in the Woods: Saving our Children from Nature- Deficit Disorder by Richard Louv, is the May selection of the Prairie Readers Book Club. Last Child in the Woods, the 2008 recipient of the Audubon Medal, identifies and names a phenomenon, "nature- eficit-disorder," as the disconnection between children and nature in modern times. Louv has created a national conversation that proves children need nature as much as nature needs children. His book has inspired many Leave No Child Inside initiatives throughout the United States. The Prairie Readers will meet at 1 p.m. at the Sunrise Coffee Shop in the Piedmont Center.

Westminster Club
May 27th

Westminster Club will close this year's program with the final meeting on Tuesday, May 27th, in Cole Hall. Our social time starts with punch at 5:30 p.m. Please come early to visit with friends before the very special dinner, prepared by chef Susie Hughes and helper(s), is served at 6 p.m.

Attorney Kent Seacrest, who is a member of the "Lincoln Vision for 2015," will provide the latest information on this visionary plan for Lincoln. This will be a great opportunity to ask questions!

You are invited to come enjoy our new look and be with your Westminster friends. Make a reservation through your caller or by calling the church by Friday, May 23rd. Please bring $7 per person and your own table service.
