It's a Life and Death Matter:
Thinking about Death in the Midst of Life
Death, it is hard to talk about, hard
to think about, hard to understand, and yet we all know that
this is part of life, something we will all experience. In this
seminar, we
will explore life's most personal experience and how we, as the
living, can come to understand God's presence in death.
June 1 -- Lost in Wonder, Love and Praise --
Rev. Bob McCallister
will introduce us to the topic of
God's presence in death through his own experiences and
research.
He will explore how we in the midst of life understand death
and the world once our loved one's have parted.
June 8 -- Final Conversation: Helping the Living and Dying
Talk. -- Please join
Dr. Jody Kellas as she explores this new book by Maureen
P. Keeley and Julie M. Yingling. In this first part of the book,
Jody will introduce the topic of talking about ensuing death and
the types of conversations that take place.
June 15 -- Finding Peace --
Kara James Estenson, Chaplain
at Bryan Hospital, will provide us with her experience in
talking about death as a chaplain and the role
of faith in approaching death.
June 22--Final Conversations 2 --
Dr. Kellas will conclude her
discussion of Keeley and Yingling's book and help us construct
some approaches
to talking about death.
June 29 -- NO Seminar: Join us for Presbyterians in
the Park -- 10:30 worship at the Antelope Park Bandshell,
