Summer Faith Village

Calling all children age 4 yrs - 5th grade: Summer Sunday school is fun and cool. Our focus this summer will be on THE TEN COMMANDMENTS. Through a great animated film series and other exciting activities children will come to understand God's Commandments on their own level. Summer Sunday school meets after the children's conversation during 10:30 worship. (No 9:00 am Sunday school)

Swanson Scholarship -Time is Running Short

Applications for the Swanson Scholarships are now available in the church office. The scholarship provides $500.00 in financial support for undergraduate education for the recipient for the 2008 -2009 academic year. The applicant should be an active member of Westminster Presbyterian Church or has a parent or guardian who is an active member.

The applicant should currently be a full time student or have been admitted for full time study at an accredited institution of higher learning for the school year of 2008-2009. While the scholarship is open to any and all courses of study, preference will be given to the applicant who shows an interest in a course of study related to education and community service. Previous applicants are encouraged to apply again. Applications should be returned to the church office to the attention of Rev. Dr. Andrew McDonald by July 15, 2008.

The Swanson Scholarship is generously given by Libby and Steve Jacobs in honor of Libby's parents, Mary and the late Bill Swanson who are long time members of Westminster Church. If you have any questions, please call Earlene Knox, 477-2971.

Confirmation Class of 2008

The 2008 Confirmation Class met with members of the Session on May 14, and shared their statements of faith. On May 18,  following brunch with their families, they once again shared portions of their statements at 10:30 worship and were introduced to the congregation. This year's confirmands are: Bennett Milliken, Ingrid Holmquist, Spencer Adams, Field McDonald, Anna Schoettger, Katie Maude, Madeline Kivett, Bailey Wood, Jade Jensen and Jefferson Davis.  Dr. McDonald led this year's class.
