    One Small Step

Would you like to do one
small thing to conserve energy and limit pollution?
Try to limit your family's use
of disposable tableware this
summer. Paper plates, plastic
forks, styrofoam cups all use
natural resources (trees and
oil) as they are manufactured,
require fuel to be transported
from the factory, and end up
releasing chemicals into the
environment after we are done
with them. Maybe some of us started with Presbyterians in the Park!

NOTE OF THANKS
This is the second year that
women at Westminster have
created and delivered Mother's
Day baskets for the women at
Friendship Home. Thanks
Westminster for your donations!

Dear Sara,

Please accept this note of
thanks for the wonderful gift
bags received by mothers at
Friendship Home! Women
in shelter said how personal
each bag was with the card,
in addition to lotion, picture
frames, candies, socks,
etc.! They also said it was so
nice to get something specifically for them. How very
thoughtful. Thank you for making  a real difference for the
women we serve.

Sincerely,
Jane Cogan

Runners Ready Set Go?

On June 7th, 2008, Westminster members participated in the 30th Annual Havelock Charity Run.
One of Lincoln's favorite races,
the Havelock Charity Run is distinguished by team competition and the Pinnacle Bank Challenge. A group of Westminsterites, ranging from age 8 to 49, participated in Lincoln's largest running event to raise funds for the Lighthouse. After the race, we enjoyed the events in Havelock Park and the camaraderie of finishing the run. The participants are listed below.

Westminster Church--3K OPEN--11:52--Adam Michaud

Westminster Church--3K OPEN--12:17--Bob Michaud

Westminster Church--3K OPEN--15:14--Jeff Pearson

Westminster Church--3K OPEN--27:02--Christine Dempsey

Westminster Church--3K OPEN--27:03--Liam Dempsey

Joselyn Van Cleave was part of the distinguished team, but could not participate due to illness the night before. Next year, we expect her and many more Westminster members to participate as we raise funds for our favorite charities. The Ministry of Outreach would like to thank everyone who participated on such short notice.

Respectfully,
Bob Michaud
