Organ Recital by Karel Paukert
Today - 4 p.m. in the Sanctuary
Please come and enjoy a performance by a world renowned organist, Karel Paukert. Mr. Paukert is a native of the Czech Republic and currently a curator Emeritus of Musical Arts at the Cleveland Museum of Art. He is also the organist and choirmaster at St. Paul Episcopal Church in Cleveland Heights. His program encompasses a wide variety of styles from different countries and periods, including selections of music from Prague and Cleveland.

This concert is free to all in the Westminster community. Tickets will be available at the receptionist desk or call Masako (475-6702x111).

Reunion Choir
February 18 at 10:30 a.m. Worship
It's time to sing together! We have celebrated our church's birthday with a reunion choir for the last two years. Let the tradition continue during 10:30 worship February 18th! This choir requires no steps and no special skills. We will rehearse 2 Sundays (February 4 and 11) right after the 10:30am service for about 20 minutes in the sanctuary. The final rehearsal will be at 10 a.m. February 18th in the sanctuary so that you can also participate in Dr. Nicholas Wolterstorff's class.

Small Group Study - Listening for God
Sign up in the Garden Room today for a small group study, Listening for God .This small group experience will involve reading a short story each week, and then discussing it within small groups of 10-12 people. Listening for God will begin in March and last for six weeks. Groups will meet at various locations, and on various days and nights. Let us know how we can fit into your schedule! If you would like to join the team of Listening for God small group leaders, please contact Kathy Collins (420-9205).

         We are reading Dr. Nicholas Wolterstorff's groundbreaking
         thoughts on the philosophy of art in his book, Art in Action,
        
designed for the casual philosopher. The book presents an
         introduction into how art is both a result of action and a
         stimulus for action. The book is on sale today in the Garden
         Room.

        The upcoming adult seminars leading up to Dr.
         Wolterstorff's visit will include:

       Today - Dr. John Richmond, UNL Director
          of the School of Music, will discuss Wolterstorff's
          book Art in Action and its impact
on the aesthetics
          of art in worship.

       February 11 - Dr. Dan Crawford, University of
          Nebraska-Lincoln Philosopher, will discuss
          Wolterstorff philosophy of religion.

       February 18 - Dr. Nicholas Wolterstorff, Yale
          University and author of Art in Action.

Westminster Bible Class
9:00 a.m. Sundays -Parlor

         Westminster Bible Class goes beyond a Bible
         interpretation lecture. It is a time for comments, discussion,
         questions and perhaps answers as we follow the Bible
         Study series call THE PRESENT WORD. We welcome
         visitors and new members. Today, Rev. Sara Dingman  will
         lead the study on the Gospel of John. Next week Steve   
         Solomon will lead the study.

"CROSSROADS"

         This outstanding group of 18-30 year old young adults
         welcome others to join them on Sunday mornings for great
         discussions, in-depth Bible study, and Christian fellowship!

         Dr. Gene Armstrong is currently leading a discussion on
         two of Lee Strobel's thought provoking books, A Case for
         Christ
and A Case for Faith.


Financial Peace University (FPU)

Men's Tuesday Fellowship Breakfasts
Each Tuesday morning a group of Westminster guys gather in the Parlor for a Continental breakfast (only $2 and FREE for first timers) at 6:45 a.m. and a program at 7:00. We dismiss by 8:00. This Tuesday Rev. Ellen Davis will provide a Bible Study.  All men, any age are welcome!
 
Prime Time - February 9th
Come hear about the "Stories of Home" project at Prime Time on Friday, February 9th at 6:30 PM in Cole Hall. "Stories of Home" is a Public Arts Project sponsored by the Lincoln Arts Council. A documentary film was made of that project and funded by Nebraska Arts Humanities Council. That film, produced by Doug Boyd, will be shown at Prime Time. Rose Ann Dowty will introduce the presentation. Pastor Sara and other Westminster members are featured in the film.
