Travel Alert
If you've seen it all, and done it all, and like to stay away from life-affirming and life-changing experiences, DO NOT read this announcement. As a rule, Westminster visitors to Lohmen come back changed by God through the experience, so you're putting the status quo at risk by reading on. The trips between Westminster and Lohmen are for building relationships that always puts us American Christians shoulder to shoulder with eastern German Christians serving in mission together. It is also a trip that is fun, educational and fantastically inexpensive.

What would you think of staying with a German family in a picturesque village for 8 days. [That's cheese and lunchmeat for breakfast and coffee and cake every afternoon at promptly 1600 (4:00 to us). It's one thing to see a country as a tourist. This Lohmen experience is quite different.

The 2007 trip was recently changed from summer to October 19-29. One of the better consequences of this change is that travelers who put down a $100 deposit by February 15 will have a total travel bill of $808. Except for gifts, incidentals and souvenirs, that's the cost of the trip. Europe for say, $1000 -- you've got to be kidding. Nein.

Perhaps you have admired the carved nativity, which was displayed near the coffee area in the Garden Room this winter. This was a gift from our sister church in Lohmen when they visited in the fall of 2005. We are returning the favor this time by taking a carving of our own -- truly our own. Cliff Hollestelle has agreed to prepare a Biblical white dove of peace for the occasion. What a treasured moment in WPC history it will be to make this presentation. You can be there. You are invited!

You must have questions. There are a lot of people connected to the Lohmen ministry in our church who can bring you up to date. Especially ask Freda and Micheal Gregg, or Susie and Steve Hughes. But don't wait too long. The deadline for that good rate is this Thursday.
