Taizé Service Tonight
Taizé is a contemplative worship experience that just may be perfect for you this evening. If you come to the chapel at 7:30 there will be music provided by Darin Anderson, Kiran Bhardwaj, Preston Bradley, Jon Jackson, Bob Schoettger and Boyd Bacon. Nancy and Bob Leavitt will be reading scriptures which include Eugene Peterson's translation of Matthew 5:1-12. There is a good amount of prayer, silence and candles. All are welcome to Westminster's version of this international movement.

Note: On Genesis Sunday, August 26, the "bounce house" will be set up at 10:30 in the south handicap parking lot near the Garden Room. Those needing special parking after 10:00 a.m. should park on the east or north sides of the church. Read today's insert for more information.

           OCCASIONAL DRIVERS NEEDED:
Our deacons need our help! We have lots of elderly church members who would love to worship with us on Sunday mornings, but cannot get here on their own. They live in different parts of town. Starting in September, once a month or every six weeks would you be willing to help transport someone to/from 10:30 worship? Please contact Pastor Sara, Nancy Stuckey or Brian Lammers if you'd like to learn more.

Eco Tip #3: Lose the Tie!
Here's another reason to dress casually at work:
People who don't wear ties to work during the summertime can reduce the setting on the air conditioner by 3 degrees. That can make a big difference!

Food, Fun, and Faith

Join us next Sunday, Aug 26th from 5 pm to 8 pm as Westminster and other Lincoln Presbyterian churches host the "Ice Cream Music Fest - dished up by the Presbyterian churches in Lincoln."

The festival, an outreach event to create a Presbyterian identity in the community, is a fun and engaging way to welcome, offer fellowship, and educate the public about our Presbyterian faith, our individual churches, and our joint missions.

The Ice Cream Music Fest will include food, fun and games for children and adults, and a free music concert. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a hot-off-the-grill picnic dinner of hamburgers or hot dogs with chips and a soft drink from the HyVee's mobile caterer for a small price and then have dessert on us! Festival goers will be treated to free homemade ice cream from the UN/L Dairy store, along with the gooey topping of their choice. Church and mission information booths will provide information about our churches and their mission projects.

Headlining the free music program are No Better Cause, an  award winning Christian pop/rock/funk a cappella group, and the String Beans, a family friendly mixture of children's music that includes rock, country, blues, pop, polka and rap. Local Presbyterian musicians will also perform.

Invite your friends and neighbors and join in this great opportunity
