Jesus is pictured holding the scepter, crown
and orb, symbolizing his reign over the world, and placed in the
center, symbolically, between the law (Moses on the left), the
psalms (David, on the right) and the prophets (below, Isaiah,
Ezekiel, and Daniel). Luke 24 says, "These are my words .... that
everything written about in the law of Moses, and the prophets and
the psalms must be fulfilled. Then he opened their minds to
understand the scriptures .... " (Luke 24: 44-45). Christ is at the
center, to remind us that he is to reign over our lives and over the
world, and that he is to open our minds to the ways of God.
