Laura Ross

Associate Director of Music and Fine Arts

Laura Ross serves as the Associate Director of Music and Fine Arts at Westminster Presbyterian Church where she directs the Westminster Choir and the Westminster Carillon. Previous appointments include music ministry positions in Nebraska, New York, Ohio, and Texas.

Laura has been a leader in pipe organ outreach and education activities in our region. She organized a multi-week pipe organ class for the University of Nebraska’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI). She also served as the Director of Omaha’s Pipe Organ Encounter, a weeklong summer camp for high school keyboardists to be immersed in the instrument. Laura has judged the local chapter of the American Guild of Organists’ Regional Competition for Young Organists. She and her husband John also hosted a successful Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza at Westminster in conjunction with the Lincoln AGO Chapter.

 

Formally trained as a classical organist, Laura holds a Master of Music Degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music and a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. She has been featured as a soloist with UNL’s Symphony Orchestra and with the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Orchestra. In addition to her duties at Westminster, Laura also teaches private piano and organ lessons.
